Good value, minor integration hiccup

We implemented the FP&A Platform and overall, it's a solid tool for the price. The Data Visualization Dashboards are quite powerful and really helped our team understand trends. However, the initial integration with our specific HRIS took a bit longer than anticipated; there were some small issues that needed ironing out with support. They were responsive, though. The value for money with the annual billing discount was good, and it definitely improved our variance analysis process. It's a strong contender, but setting up that HRIS link could have been smoother.

Reliable for budgeting and forecasting

It's enough to get a feel for the interface and if it connects to your systems. Don't expect to build out full models though.

From what I heard during our demo, they said it usually takes a few weeks, sometimes up to a month or two depending on how complex your existing setup is and how many integrations you need. They have a team that helps with it.

They use pretty standard enterprise-level security protocols, cloud-based of course. I think they mention encryption and stuff in their docs. We've been using them for a while with no issues.

Yeah, it's secure. All the big players in this space are. They usually have SOC 2 compliance and all that. It's probably more secure than keeping everything on shared drives.

How does Datarails compare to something like Planful? We're currently looking at both and it's hard to tell which is better for Excel users.

Datarails is WAY more Excel-native. Like, you still work in Excel spreadsheets, it just sucks all the data in and centralizes it. Planful felt more like a separate web app where Excel was just for imports/exports.

If your team lives and breathes Excel, Datarails is probably the way to go. We switched from something similar to Planful, and the learning curve for Datarails was much smoother because everyone already knew Excel.
